Adventure in Sri Lanka – 7 Days
Day 1: Colombo – City & Shopping Tour
Arrive at the Bandaranaike International at Airport, Colombo where our representative will transfer you to your hotel. Depending on the time of arrival, after freshening up, begin your City and Shopping Tour. See the 100-year-old clock tower and several British built colonial buildings, the Pettah bazaar, a Hindu and a Buddhist temple, residential areas comprising stately homes and the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) gifted to Sri Lanka from the People's Republic of China. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Colombo – River Rafting - Kithulgala
After breakfast, check out and proceed for a river rafting tour in Kithulgala which begins at 10 am. It is suitable for amateurs and professionals. Experience the thrill of shooting the rapids, go fishing and enjoy a typical Sri Lankan lunch at the centre. Kithulgala is in the wet zone rain forest. The Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed on the Kelani River.

In the evening start the cycling trail from Kithulgala to the historic Belilina Cave (10 km approx) 2000 feet above sea level. Excavations here have uncovered many fossils more than 32,000 years old. Dinner and overnight at Kithulgala.
Day 3: Kithulgala – Belihuloya – Kinchigune Trail – Belihuloya
Breakfast. Drive to Belihuloya, a picturesque hamlet. Stop for lunch at the River Garden Resort. Walk the Kinchigune Nature Trail, (approx. 6 km/ 2-4 hours) which begins at Kinchigune Eco Lodge and runs alongside a forest and the Belihuloya River. Walk through paddy fields, across rivers and pass local houses. See beautiful birds and butterflies and some charming waterfalls. The trail ends at River Garden Resort.

The semi-luxury campsite at River Garden lets you experience camping in style! The tents are very spacious, clean and modern, and you are guaranteed a good night's sleep on comfortable mattresses. The camp has easy access to the restaurant, toilets, shower and freshwater 'al fresco' bathing in the river. Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Belihuloya – Kinchigune – Samanalawawa – Belihuloya
After breakfast, cycle to Kinchigune Village through a typical village passing paddy fields, canals etc. Then comes a more difficult terrain and dirt tracks and you might have to carry your cycle at some places. Cross the Belihuloya Stream to Eco Lodge – Kinchigune for lunch. Enjoy a canoeing trip in Samanalawewa Reservoir surrounded by mountains. You will be accompanied by an experienced guide and modern life jackets, and a proper orientation will be offerered. Dinner & overnight at Belihuloya.
Day 5: Belihuloya – Horton Plains – Bambarakanda – Belihuloya
After breakfast, drive to the Horton Plains for a walk in the 10,000 hectare Nature Reserve, home to leopard, elk, deer, giant squirrel, wild boar, wild hare, porcupine and migratory birds.

Continue to Bambarakanda Falls in a majestic basin-shaped valley bordered by huge steep rocks and pine forests. The highest waterfall in Sri Lanka (240.8) plunges into a deep pool only 500m away from the trail. Dinner and overnight at Belihuloya.
Day 6: Belihuloya – Waulapane – Udawalawe Nat.Park – Udawalawe/Embilipitiy
After breakfast, drive to the Waulapane Cave. This isolated cavern contains stalactites and stalagmites and is approx. 500 million years old. Journey 300m underground and discover this prehistoric world. The stream, which runs through the cave, becomes a beautiful waterfall at the center. You may encounter a few water monitors, amphibians and thousands of bats in this fully dark cave.

Stop for lunch en route and continue to Udawalawe National Park 200 km from Colombo. The 30,821 hectare dry zone game park is famous as the home of 400 elephants. See whole herds – adults and young, feeding and bathing or playing in the water! The park is also home to water buffalo, water monitor lizards, sambar deer, monkeys and the occasional leopard, and birds. A 4WD open-top safari is the only way to see the reserve, accompanied by experienced and knowledgeable nature guides.

Continue to the Eco Team Safari Camp, about 16 km inside the park next to the Walawe Ganga River. Go camping in style! The camp is set up prior to your arrival, with comfortable tents, a fully equipped kitchen, chairs and tables, hammocks, flushable toilets, showers and even cold beer. Enjoy a hearty barbecue meal in a magical setting, lit up with traditional flame torches and a roaring campfire. Overnight.
Day 7: Udawalawe/Embilipitiya – Colombo
Breakfast. Depart for Colombo.
