Mount Cook to Christchurch (One Way)
Duration: 5 Hours Overview: Travel along the western side of Lake Pukaki towards Christchurch. Stop at the stunning glacier-fed Lake Tekapo to visit the Church of the Good Shepherd on the lake foreshore. Drive across the Canterbury Plains, stopping for afternoon tea, before arriving in Christchurch in the evening. This tour ends in Christchurch. It does not return to Mt Cook.
Mount Cook to Queenstown (One Way)
Duration: 3 Hours 45 Minutes Overview: Departing Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park follow the shores of Lake Pukaki to the rugged landscape of the Mackenzie Basin. Stop in Omarama for afternoon tea (own expense) and continue through the golden tussock country of the Lindis Pass. Enjoy the scenery of the fruit growing region of Cromwell and the historic gold mining region of the rugged Kawarau Gorge before arriving in Queenstown in the early evening. This tour finishes in Queenstown. It does not return to Mount Cook.
