The Gir Forest National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as Sasan-Gir, is a forest and wildlife sanctuary in Gujarat, India. It is the sole home of the Asiatic Lion and is one of the most important protected areas in Asia due to its supported species. It is situated about 65 km south east of Junagarh district of Gujarat. December to March is climatically the best season to visit the park. April and May are very hot but considered as the best months for wildlife viewing and photography.
Asiatic Lion Lodge is nestled between two forested hills of Gir National Park and Sanctuary, adjoining a natural water pond near village Haripur (Gir). It is in the heart of wild country and only a 10 minute drive from BhambhaFol Gate of the Gir National Park & Sanctuary and a 15 minute drive from Sasan Gir.
