The 105 sq km Bandhavgarh National Park is a popular national park in Madhya Pradesh. The density of its tiger population is one of the highest known in India. This was the once habitat of the famous white tiger of yester years. Prior to becoming a national park, the forests around Bandhavgarh were the Shikargah, or game reserves of the Maharajas of Rewa. Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve remains open from October to June. Best time for tiger spotting is January to March. Winter can be extremely cold and summer, extremely hot. The nearest airport is Jabalpur.
The Mogli Jungle Resort is just 2 km from Bandhavgarh National Park on 16 acres of lush green forest adjoining the perennial Charanganga river. The charming cottages with their gently sloping tiled roofs are equipped with all modern amenities. The majestic dining hall overlooks the historic fort of Bandhavgarh at a distance.
After exciting Jungle Safaris during day, relax and browse through the collection of books at the well stocked library, watch a wildlife movie in the evening, or sit under the starlit sky around a roaring bonfire, as the throbbing beats of a tribal dance enthrall you and the delicious aroma of a dinner tempts you.
