Alaska Railroad Adventure with Spencer Glacier Float Trip

Overview: Start your tour from Anchorage with a relaxing and scenic train ride on the famous Alaska Railroad, which dates back to the early 1900s and stretches from Seward in southern Alaska all the way north to the inland city of Fairbanks. During your 2-hour journey, hug the waters of Turnagain Arm, a picturesque inlet just south of Anchorage, as you make your way to Chugach State Park and Spencer Glacier. When you reach the glacier, hop off the train and enjoy a full buffet deli lunch on the shores of the water before boarding your raft for a leisurely yet exciting float trip down the Placer River, past impressive icebergs, snow-dotted mountains and the Spencer Glacier. Helicopter Adventure with Dog sledding or Glacier Hike

Overview: Embark on an adventure from Anchorage to the Knik River Lodge for a helicopter ride to the Troublesome Glacier. Spanning 25 miles (40 km), the Troublesome Glacier is one of the largest glaciers in south-central Alaska. After a 15-minute scenic flight, your helicopter will touch down, and you will experience the glacier's expansive and impressive surroundings on either a 4-hour hike or a 1-hour dogsled tour!

Glacier Hike: Meet your guide on the glacier and get outfitted for your adventure. Your guide will lead you onto the ice, giving you a unique perspective of your surroundings. Sights include ice crevasses, melt pools and ice sculptures created by water, wind and sun! After about four hours, fly back to the lodge by helicopter and return to your Anchorage hotel by minivan.

Dog Sledding: When you arrive on the glacier, a dog team will be waiting! After a brief introduction, hop on the dogsled and set out on the glacier. Each sled has a seat and one standing spot for the musher (driver). For an hour and 15 minutes, you'll help mush and learn about the life of mushers and their dogs while you enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Chugach State Park Hiking Tour from Anchorage with Full-Day or Half-Day Option

Overview: Chugach State Park is third largest state park in the United States, encompassing nearly 500,000 acres. It boasts dozens of picturesque mountain peaks, rivers, lakes and valleys and is filled with a variety of wildlife including moose and eagles.

On this half-day (4 hrs) or full-day (7 hrs) tour from Anchorage, a naturalist guide will lead you on a hike to explore some of the park's impressive sights. The park has hiking trails of all levels, from easy to strenuous.
