Heissa Authentic Flair of Aswan

Overview: In the reservoir of the Old Aswan Dam along the river Nile in southern Egypt, is located a small island of Heissa, where the ancient Egyptian temple complex of Philae in Aswan used to be before it was moved to its current location.

Heissa is a natural preserve island, and one of the oldest Nubain village near Aswan. Stay in traditional Nubian village. Authentic food is served and living the calm and typical life of the Nubain culture, enjoying nature and the unique authentic flair of the Nubai is an experience in itself. Other activities that one can enjoy are kayaking, felucca ride, bird watching, sandboarding or simply appreciate the sandy beaches by the Nile.

Felucca Trip & Elephantine Island

Overview: Board your felucca, a traditional Egyptian boat, for an enjoyable hour on the river visiting Elephantine Island with its wonderful gardens. It is the largest island in the area and is one of the most ancient sites with artifacts dating to pre-dynastic periods.

Full Day Abu Simbel

Overview: Drive to Abu Simbel to visit the Temple of Ramses II and Temple of Queen Nefertari which are the most magnificent monuments in Egypt. Their removal and reconstruction was an historic event, when the temples (280km from Aswan) were threatened by submersion in Lake Nasser. The Temple of Ramses II is primarily dedicated to Re-Harakhte and Nefertari's is dedicated to Hathor.

High Dam, Obelisk & Philae Temple

Overview: Drive to the Obelisk, which if completed, would have been the tallest standing at about 42 m. Drive across the Old Aswan dam, for a photo stop at the High Dam. Visit the Philae Temple, dedicated to Goddess Isis, on the island of Philae which was fully submerged after the creation of the Aswan Dam and Lake Nasser. UNESCO took the initiative to preserve the magnificent temple. In the late 70s, it was dismantled and relocated to Agilkia Island, which was renamed Philea Island.

Nile Felucca

Overview: Take a felucca ride on the River Nile for an amazing view of Aswan. Feluccas are the traditional sailboats which have sailed on the river since the time of the Pharaohs. This relaxing ride will guarantee wonderful views of this city full of life, mystery and history.
