Banff to Jasper One Way + Ice explorer

Duration: 9 Hours
Overview: One of Canada's most scenic drives, the Ice fields Parkway takes you through Banff and Jasper National Parks. Highlights include stops at Lake Louise, the Crowfoot Glacier, Bow Lake and spectacular glacier fed Peyto Lake. At the Columbia Ice field, lunch on your own before your ride onboard the Ice Explorer. Continue through Sunwapta Valley past Tangle Falls and the Stutfield Glacier on Mount Kitchener. Take a stroll around Athabasca Falls before your late afternoon arrival in Jasper.

Discover Banff City Tour and its Wildlife

Discover the Athabasca Glacier Trail

Duration: 9 Hours
Overview: The Ice fields parkway is one of the most spectacular stretches of road in the world. Travel through history, accompanied by guides, hearing brave tales of early explorers. Carved through time, the summits and valleys tell the story of our glacial past and reveal their unmistakable power. The trip includes a stop at the Columbia Ice fields Center and the Athabasca Glacier. Spend time exploring the center, go on one of the famous snow coach tours, or join your guide to the toe of the Athabasca Glacier. Snow coach and lunch is not included in the cost of tour.

Grotto Canyon Ice Walks

Duration: 3 Hours 30 Minutes
Overview: Walk on a frozen creek through Grotto Canyon, past unusual rock formations, ancient native rock art, and icefalls. Escorted by a specialist guide, this small-group tour offers an unforgettable personalized sightseeing experience! The history of rock art, which is over a thousand years old, and the geology of the mountains are at your fingertips as the guides explain the mystery of the area. You might also have the unique opportunity to witness ice climbers scaling the frozen waterfalls.

This tour is seasonal and only operates from December through to April.

Johnston Canyon Icewalk

Duration: 4 Hours
Overview: This tour includes complimentary pickup and drop off from most Banff hotels. Look out for the various types of wildlife which inhabit the area, learn about the history and geology of the area from your knowledgeable guide. Hike on steel walkways built into the canyon walls and get an airy view of the canyon below. Travel through breathtaking scenery on your way to the trail Head. This popular walk will lead you past the lower falls and to the breathtaking upper icefalls.

Evening Wildlife Safari

Duration: 2 Hours
Overview: On this evening journey travel through a variety of landscapes and learn about wildlife, their needs, and their inter-relationships. Leave the Safari with a greater understanding of the land, and animals that are seen on the tours.

Lake Minnewanka

Duration: 2 Hours 30 Minutes
Overview: This coach excursion retraces the journey by Bill & Jim Brewster on their first guided tour from Banff to the historic community of Bankhead. Pass by Stoney Squaw Mountain and the remains of a coal mining operation. Wind along this mountain road often slowing for mountain goats. Upon arrival at Lake Minnewanka, enjoy a 1.5-hour interpretive boat cruise (50 passenger boats). Learn about the natural history and native legends that make this setting a landmark.

Mountain Lakes & Waterfalls

Duration: 4 Hours
Overview: Journey along the Bow Valley Parkway to Johnston Canyon for a short walk to the lower falls. Continue along the Parkway toward Lake Louise. After lunch at Lake Louise, visit Moraine Lake, then cross the Great Divide and enter Yoho National Park to visit Takakkaw Falls, Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and the Natural Rock Bridge that spans the Kicking Horse River. Your tour draws to a close as you return to Banff at approximately 17:30.

Rockies Discovery & Athabasca Glacier Experience

Duration: 9 Hours
Overview: The Columbia Ice field, located in Jasper National Park, presents an awesome sight when first viewed from the Ice fields Parkway. It is one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle and one of the most accessible ice fields in North America. It covers an area of nearly 325 sq km and reaches a depth of 1200 feet. Glacier-fed rivers and streams, majestic peaks, peaceful lakes and broad-reaching valleys combine to create a harmonious blend of scenic wonders, and also a protected habitat for Canadian Rockies wildlife. At the Columbia Ice field Centre, time is provided for lunch. Then, an experienced guide takes you out onto the Athabasca Glacier. The scenic return trip makes an early evening arrival into Banff.
