If it's out of season, enjoy a visit to this lovely town on the shore of Walker Bay, near the southernmost tip of Africa. Nestled between magnificent mountains and the sea, Hermanus offers some of the best shore-based whale-watching opportunities in the world. See the giant southern right and humpback whales from the shoreline and cliffs. Return to Cape Town in the late afternoon via Elgin and Sir Lowry's Pass.

From a height of 1067m, view the city and Table Bay, Robben Island, the Atlantic seaboard and the spectacular Cape Peninsula. Head down into the Bo Kaap Malay Quarter. From Government Avenue, stroll to the National Gallery and South Africa Museum. View the Houses of Parliament, City Hall and visit the Castle. Enter the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront with its shops, pubs, restaurants and entertainment and explore on your own. Stay back or return to your hotel at 1pm.

Half Day Robben Island Tour

Overview: For nearly 400 years, Robben Island, 12 km from Cape Town, was a place of banishment, isolation and imprisonment where political troublemakers, social outcasts and the unwanted of society were sent. During apartheid it became internationally known for its institutional brutality. Those imprisoned here succeeded on a psychological and political level in turning this 'hell-hole' into a symbol of freedom and personal liberation.

Half Day Winelands Tour

Overview: Drive through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads to Stellenbosch, the heart of the Cape Winelands. Walk down the canal-lined avenues, in the shade of giant oak trees and beautifully preserved historic buildings. Enjoy your first wine tasting of the day in this region. Continue to your second wine tasting at an estate either on the Paarl or Franschhoek wine routes.
