Visit the Galle Fort a World Heritage site, built by the Portuguese and later extended by the Dutch in 1663. Stop for optional lunch at Galle. Visit a mask factory in Ambalangoda the turtle hatchery in Kosgoda where several species of turtles, especially the endangered hawksbill are protected. Return to Colombo.
Overview: Visit Negombo in the heart of Sri Lanka's fishing industry. Negombo is dominated by shrines and picturesque churches and offers good beaches on the west coast.
