Day 1: Colombo - Negombo

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo and meet our Sri Lankan representative for your transfer to Negombo. Check in at your hotel and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure. Explore the town or the beach, which is a short walk from the hotel. Dinner.

Day 2: Negombo - Dambulla

After breakfast, drive to Dambulla, stopping by Koskale, a small village famous for its Hot Rotti, a local snack made with flour, water, and coconut milk. After lunch, visit Pidurangala, a rock next to Sigiriya that offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The rock is home to several caves, which were once used as a monastery. The caves contain Buddhist paintings and statues, dating back to the 3rd century BC.

Hike to Pidurangala rock to view the sunset, for (approx.30 mins to an hour) up a well-maintained path with some large rocks and boulders. At the beginning of the trail, see a white Buddhist temple, Pidurangala Sigiri Rajamaha Viharaya, where you must cover your shoulders and knees and remove your shoes. This is strictly enforced. Reach the Pidurangala Cave Temple and see the remains of an ancient monastery with a quite well-preserved reclining Buddha statue inside. At the top of the rock, walk around and enjoy views of the countryside and the imposing Sigiriya Rock. Check into your hotel at Dambulla. Dinner.

Day 3: Dambulla - Polonnaruwa - Minneriya National Park Safari

Breakfast. Visit Polonnaruwa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Polonnaruwa was the second kingdom of Sri Lanka and is famous for its ancient architectural sites, natural beauty, and the large lake "Parakrama Samudra" built in 1200. See the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya, the Audience Hall, the Lotus Bath, the statue of King Parakramabahu, and the Parakrama Samudraya.

In the afternoon, enjoy a safari at Minneriya National Park to see wild elephants, amphibians, birds, and other animals. Minneriya is home to the two endemic monkeys of Sri Lanka: the toque macaque and purple-faced langur, and many species of mammals such as sambar deer, wild buffalo, crocodiles, mongooses, porcupines, and over 170 species of birds. Return to your hotel. Dinner.

Day 4: Dambulla - Kandy

After breakfast, climb 45 mins to one hour to the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, that rises over 656 feet above the surrounding plain. See the ruins of a palace and fortress on top that were built by King Kasyapa in the 5th century AD. Enjoy the stunning views of the countryside.

In the afternoon, transfer to Kandy, the former royal capital of Sri Lanka. Kandy is a beautiful city surrounded by hills and lakes. It is home to the Temple of the Tooth, a Buddhist temple that houses a sacred tooth relic of the Buddha. Arrive and check in at your hotel. Dinner.

Day 5: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

Breakfast. Travel to Nuwara Eliya, a hill station in Sri Lanka that is known for its cool climate, tea plantations, and beautiful scenery. Stop at a restaurant enroute to enjoy a cup of Ceylon tea.

In the afternoon, explore Nuwara Eliya city, visit the beautiful Gregory Lake, surrounded by mountains. In the evening, enjoy a stroll along the lakeshore. Dinner.

Day 6: Nuwara Eliya - Kithugala - Colombo

Breakfast. Travel to Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka and a mix of modern and colonial architecture. Enroute, visit Kithulgala, a popular destination for white water rafting, and the location where the movie "Bridge on the River Kwai" was filmed.

In the evening, enjoy a brief city tour of Colombo and visit Galle Face Green, a popular hangout spot for locals and tourists. You can also enjoy cocktails at a rooftop bar and dinner at a restaurant.

Day 7: Colombo

Breakfast. Your driver will pick you up and transfer you to the airport.
