Overview: Visit downtown El Calafate and stroll the streets of the historic town to see the impressive traditional buildings. Learn about the history of the town, its pioneers and the endemic flora and fauna. Visit the Laguna Nimez Reserve on the edge of Lake Argentino for a bit of bird watching (binoculars provided); visit a local orchard, famous for its strawberries, cherries and sour cherries. Finally, stop at the Mirador of Virgen de la Paz lookout point for breathtaking views of the city and surroundings. En route, pass by Cuevas del Gualichu, an archaeological site, which contains the prints of the first men who inhabited El Calafate.

Overview: Perito Moreno Glacier is an impressive natural wonder and due to its extension and height, it has become world famous for its easy access, continuous advance and the loud loosening of huge icebergs. The Parque Nacional Los Glaciares (Glaciers National Park) area is home to other important glaciers such as Upsalla, Onelli and Spegazzini. Once inside the park, follow the route around Lago Argentino where 80km from El Calafate, Perito Moreno Glacier lies imposing with its 60 m high ice walls. A nature experience not to be missed!

Overview: Depart from your hotel and head to the Bajo de las Sombras (Under the Shadows) port to cross the Rico Arm of Lake Argentino. After a quick 15-minute sail, reach the opposite shore and the base of the Perito Moreno Glacier where the guides will help you pick out a crampon, special metal spikes worn on your boots for traction. Hike along the southern moraine to a special vantage point. With your crampons fastened and your harness in place, begin to explore the glacier. Discover blue lagoons, deep and alarming cracks, huge drains and impressive caves. Your expert guides will explain the characteristics of the ice and its surroundings, whilst you tour the inside of the glacier for more than four hours. Enjoy a picnic lunch (you bring your own) on the ice.

Overview: Depart from El Calafate on a scenic 50 km drive through the Patagonian province of Santa Cruz. Arrive Puerto Bandera on Lake Argentino and board your lake cruiser. Sail past the breathtaking Upsala, Spegazzini and Onelli glaciers. Around midday, travel north to Onelli Bay, disembark and enjoy a guided short trek through the forest. Head toward the bay, where the scenery is simply unimaginable. Admire the ice floes and impressive snow-capped mountains as you enjoy lunch by the lake. Head back to the boat for your return to Puerto Bandera and on to your El Calafate hotel.

Overview: Take a scenic drive to the Chilean border, where after clearing customs, you'll head to the Torres del Paine National Park past stunning scenery. Upon arrival, explore the national park, its amazing views and beautiful lakes. Pass by Lake Sarmiento and Amarga Lagoon. Enjoy a panoramic vista of the Paine Horns from one of the lookout points. Continue to Lake Pehoe and Paine River before arriving at the Lago Grey Inn for a leisurely lunch. Take a short hike to see the powerful waterfall at Salto Grande. Leave the National Park in the afternoon, arriving in El Calafate late in the evening.
