Day 1: Colombo - Via Pinnawela to Sigiriya

Arrive Colombo where you will be met by our representative and transferred to Kandy. Enroute visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage where volunteers and caretakers take look after orphaned, abandoned, and injured elephants. Watch them feed and bathe them in the nearby river. Continue to Kandy. Visit the popular Dambulla Cave Temple. A sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries, this Buddhist cave monastery is the largest, best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. There are about 80 unique documented caves surrounding it and five major caves filled with statues and paintings which you should not miss seeing. Arrive Sigiriya and check in at your hotel.

Day 2: Sigiriya Rock - Kandy Spice Garden & City Tour - Nuwara Eliya Tour

After breakfast, enjoy the view as you climb up the 5th century AD Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Walk through the entrance framed by the paws of a lion. The fortress is also known as 'the Lion Rock'. View the beautiful unfading murals. Climb the steep staircase to see the terraced gardens and still-working cisterns. Walk through the tunnels leading to the palace.

Continue to Kandy, enroute visit the Spice Garden and enjoy the city tour of Kandy. Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a sacred place for Buddhists. The prized tooth relic of the Buddha is encased in seven golden caskets which are engraved with precious gemstones.

Continue to Nuwara Eliya and enjoy a city tour which includes the golf course, trout streams, Victoria Park, and boating or fishing on Lake Gregory. Also visit a working tea factory where the tea bushes of this highland region produce some of the world’s finest Orange Pekoe tea. Visit the Seetha Eliya, home of a temple mentioned in the famous epic Ramayana. Also see Haggala Gardens with floating lotuses and water lilies. Return to Kandy.

Day 3: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

Breakfast. Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens – Peradeniya, started in 1374 as a pleasure garden of the Kings of Gampola and Kandy. There are more than 5,000 species of trees, plants and creepers in these 147 acres of this beautiful garden. Some rare and endemic flora and fauna from the tropical world are found here. Spice Garden and Orchid House are the most beautiful and popular.

There are 5 Palm Avenues, the earliest and tallest Palm Avenue (Royal Palm Avenue) was planted in 1905 and the Double Coconuts from the Seashells Island, with the largest seed of all plants in the world can be seen in one such avenue.

Transfer to Nuwara Eliya, enroute visit the Ramboda Waterfall, enjoy the cool climate and scenic landscape of the hill country. Arrive, check in at your hotel and relax.

Day 4: Nuwara Eliya - Yala

Breakfast. Check out transfer to Yala. Enroute visit Rawana Ella waterfall. Arrive at Yala and check in. In the evening enjoy a jeep safari in the Yala National Park, home to wildlife unique to this region. Return to your lodge and relax.

Day 5: Yala - Bentota

After a leisurely breakfast, transfer to Bentota. Enroute visit Galle Dutch fort and enjoy a city tour of Bentota which includes a boat ride along the scenic Madhu River, passing many islets surrounded by mangroves. The Turtle Hatchery is a prime turtle nesting site and was opened by the Wildlife Protection Society in 1981. See huge tanks filled with new-born turtle hatchlings. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at your hotel.

Day 6: Bentota - Colombo

Breakfast. The morning is free to enjoy water sports at Bentota beach. In the early afternoon, drive to Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka and a mixture of modern and colonial influences. Many colonial buildings influenced by the Portuguese, Dutch, and British exist alongside structures built in Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic, Indian, and contemporary architectural styles. Colombo also boasts many shopping malls and department stores that offer brand-name clothing at highly discounted prices.

Visit Galle Face Green, the Viharamahadevi Park, the National Museum, the Twin World Trade Center Towers, the Old Parliament Building, the Fort district, Independence Hall at Independence Square, and prominent Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic, and Christian places of worship. Transfer to your hotel and check in.

Overnight.

Day 7: Colombo

Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
