Arrive in Ivalo, in Finnish Lapland. Private transfer to Saariselka, a small village surrounded by untouched wilderness. Check-in at your hotel, and the rest of your day is at leisure. Please consult the Borealis Destination Management welcome letter which you receive upon check-in, and note meeting point and time with tour leader. Overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel. The day is at leisure to try one of the many fascinating optional tours (please check with us for various options). Saariselka and its surrounding landscape is ideal for cross country skiing. Or, take one of the most popular tours, a Snowmobile Safari to the Fells.
For some a full day optional tour through the fascinating white countryside of Lapland to Kirkenes in search of the King Crabs is a must. Travel a short distance out of Kirkenes to Jarfjord, with a quick stop on the Russian border on the way. Once at Jarfjord, travel either by boat or snow mobile, depending on ice conditions, in search of the King Crabs. The King Crab Safari was voted as one of the 25 best new adventure trips by National Geographic in 2008 and rated the best experience in the World at the FITUR travel workshop 2009. Overnight.
Breakfast. The morning is at leisure for optional tours in Saariselkä In the afternoon, transfer to the nearby Igloo Village in Kakslauttanen. Check-in to your private Glass Igloo. Enjoy the warmth of your Glass Igloo and weather permitting, marvel at the amazing Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) and the millions of stars from your bed.
Or, choose to stay in a Snow Igloo, sleeping in a thermal sleeping bag in approximately – 5 degrees Celsius. Dinner and overnight at Kakslauttanen Igloo Village.
Breakfast. Depart on a private coach and travel south towards Rovaniemi with a memorable stop on the way. A few kilometers outside of Rovaniemi, the home of Santa Claus, visit the Santa Claus Village and enjoy some free time to experience this unique attraction including a quick visit with Santa Claus himself. Board your coach and continue to Rovaniemi for early evening arrival and check-in. Overnight.
Breakfast. Enjoy a full day at leisure - take one of the many optional Snowmobile safaris. Or try snowmobiling along frozen rivers and through snow-covered forests and also visiting a husky dog farm. You can also experience a snowmobile safari by night giving you another chance to see the breathtaking Northern Lights – Aurora Borealis. Overnight.
Breakfast. Depart in your private coach South to Kemi, to experience one of the highlights of your winter adventure. Board the Sampo Icebreaker at Kemi harbor and spend 4 hours on this unforgettable vessel, breaking though the ice in the northern Gulf of Bothnia. Enjoya guided tour of the ship with its massive engine room and bridge, and a warm lunch in the on board restaurant.
In the middle of the largest ice field in Europe, you also get the opportunity to jump in the sea and float! You will of course be fitted with a warm survival suit and those who dare will also be presented with a certificate by the ship's Captain. Return transfer to Rovaniemi to arrive early evening at your hotel. Overnight.
Breakfast. Your day is at leisure until your transfer to the airport
Important: Please note that due to the size of the Glass Igloos at the Kakslauttanen Igloo Village there are no private facilities in the Igloo, however it is fitted with private separate toilet.
Also the size restricts the amount of luggage so all guests must leave their main luggage at the main building a short walk away, however they are encouraged to bring an overnight bag with them to their Igloos. There are shower facilities and saunas next to the Igloo village, which are available for guests.

We reserve the right to amend the itinerary and/or included entrances without notice due to extreme weather conditions. The weather conditions in Lapland can vary and road closures are sometimes enforced by local authorities, which is out of the control of our travel partner in Scandinavia. Also the snow and ice conditions can be unpredictable during the season, so some of the activities on this adventure are subject to change or cancellation without notice.

All snowmobile safaris include thermal outfit, guide services in English, each snowmobile shared by two guests taking turns in driving, fuel, traffic insurance (maximum personal liability €505), maintenance and VAT. The driver of a snowmobile has to be at least 18 years of age with a valid driver's license. Solo driving possibility (1-4 hours)
