Breakfast. Depart for Masvingo, the Ancient City, to see the Ruins of Great Zimbabwe built in 1200 AD. This is the largest and most significant ancient monument south of the Sahara, second only to the Egyptian pyramids. See the Acropolis, the Great Enclosure and the Conical Tower. After the tour, check in to your lodge. Overnight.
After breakfast depart for Bulawayo, arriving around midday (lunch at own expense). This is the second largest city in Zimbabwe with wide tree lined streets and surrounded by beautiful parks, a legacy of Cecil John Rhodes. See examples of early Victorian buildings which are now heritage sites. Visit the Bulawayo National Museum before checking into your hotel. Overnight.
Breakfast. Drive to the beautiful Matobo Hills with a rich, mythical history. Spend the day exploring the area. Highlights include cave paintings, countryside panoramas at 'View of the World', where Cecil Rhodes is buried. Catch a glimpse of the black rhino and plains game and birds of prey. Return tour hotel in the evening. Overnight.
