Travel to the Corinth Canal for a short stop at this engineering marvel. Drive to Epidaurus, visit the archaeological site and the Theatre, which is famous for its remarkable acoustics and continue to Nafplio for a quick look at this quaint town. Drive to Mycenae to visit the famous Archaeological Site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. Depart for Olympia, through the central Peloponnese area passing the cities of Megalopolis and Tripoli, arrive in Olympia. Check in at your hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast. In the morning visit the archaeological site of the ancient Olympic Games and the museum of Olympia. Drive via Patra to Rio, cross the channel to Antirio across the new suspension bridge considered the longest and most modern in Europe. Arrive in Nafpaktos and continue to Delphi for dinner and overnight stay.
In the morning visit the archaeological site of Delphi which was the centre of the ancient world, whose prestige extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic world. On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, lie the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios. Visit the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo, and the Museum containing masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture: the Bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete, Aghiasand. Depart for Kalambaka. Drive through Amfissa, Lamia and Trikala. Arrive in Kalambaka for dinner and an overnight stay.
In the morning, visit breathtaking Meteora one of the largest and most important complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries in Greece, second only to Mount Athos. Just beyond the town of Kalambaka, massive gray colored pinnacles rise towards the sky. It is a strange but breathtaking landscape that has been sculpted by wind and water over thousands of years. Meteora means 'suspended in air'. 9th century hermits first climbed them to settle in the caves and fissures of the rocks. There were originally 24 monasteries in the rock community. Only six monasteries remain. In the early afternoon start the drive back to Athens passing through Thermopylae and Kammena Vourla. Arrive Athens and check into your hotel. Overnight
