Arrive into Chile and you will be transferred to the hotel of your choice. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight.
Breakfast. Check out and transfer to the airport for your departure to Easter Island. On arrival check in and freshen up. Lunch on your own.
In the afternoon you will do the half-day Ahu Akivi excursion. This circuit consists in visiting the TAHAI ceremonial site with 3 platforms, and the AHU, with its restored statues. This is the only Moai with eyes. We can also see the remains of a boat house, a stone henhouse and a pier completely built with stones. Then we will continue with our visit to AHU AKIVI, platform with 7 restored Moais. According to the legend these 7 statues represent the first explorers who arrived at Rapa Nui, sent by King Hotu Matua. Afterwards, we visit the PUNA PAU quarry where the PUKAO or "touched" of the Moai were carved. Return to your hotel and Overnight.
Breakfast. We shall depart for the full day excursion to Anakena Beach. The first stop takes us to an unrestored Ahu called VAIHU, located in the bay of HANGA TE'E on the south coast of the island, witnessing a phase of destruction a few centuries ago. We continue to the AHAH AKAHANGA region, whose legend tells us that the tomb of the famous king HOTU MATUA is located next to the Ahu. Then, we arrived at one of the most important sites of the Rapa Nui culture, the RANO RARAKU quarry, where they were carved approx. 900 statues, 397 of them still lying down or stopped at different times of its construction and transport. We continue to the AHU TONGARIKI, restored in 1995, with its 15 standing statues.
The penultimate site that we will visit is the "Navel of the World", along with the AHU TE PITO KURA. We arrive at the ANAKENA beach where we will find 2 platforms, the AHU NAU NAU and the AHU ATURE HUKI, both restored. Experience the warm waters of the Pacific, rest on the beach with pink sand under palm trees. Return back to your hotel and Overnight.
Breakfast. We shall depart for the Orongo half-day excursion. We shall go up the extinct volcano, RANO KAU, where we have a view of the whole island with its coasts and volcanoes and the town of HANGA ROA. The second viewpoint that we shall visit is the RANO KAU crater with its lagoon and then we arrive at the ceremonial village ORONGO, where the ceremony and competition of the Bird Man - TANGATA MANU took place. Then we visit the AHU VENAPU with its architecture that reminds us of the constructions of the pre-Inca peoples. At the end of the excursion we shall visit the cave ANA KAI TANGATA famous for cave paintings. Return back to hotel. Rest of the evening is at leisure. Overnight.
Breakfast. Check out and transfer out to Easter Island´s Airport, to board flight back to Santiago.
