Overview: This tour operates twice a day and is most popular. The day trip takes in the famous landmarks of Maputo which includes the Old Fort, the train station whose dome was designed by Eiffel, the Botanical Gardens, Maputo Cathedral and Independence Square. You will also visit the Maputo's best museums.
Overview: Visit Mafalala, a suburb which has always been an important cultural and political centre with a long and interesting history. See the old and the new Mozambique, the pre and post-colonial Mozambique. Learn about local ethno-cultural differences. Many of Mozambique's most famous and influential people were born and nurtured here.
Overview: Maputo Special Reserve, formerly the Maputo Elephant Reserve is 70km away from Maputo. It does not have the same wildlife concentration as parks in S. Africa but is has a growing population of elephants, hippopotamus, crocodiles, Samango monkeys, small buck and extensive birdlife. Enjoy a full day of game viewing accompanied by guides, who will take you across from Maputo on the Catembe ferry to the Reserve.
Overview: Macaneta Beach is on a peninsula north of Maputo. Depart from your hotel and cross the Incomati River by ferry from beautiful Marracuene or take the boat down to where the river almost meets the beach. Enjoy the beach whilst your seafood lunch is being prepared. After relaxing awhile, return to Maputo.
Overview: The "official" capital of diving, Tofo is one of the hot spots in Mozambique. The beach is beautiful but the coral reef is less spectacular then in other regions. See manta rays and whale sharks year round and humpback whales June to October.
Humpback whales can be seen throughout the year in the popular diving resorts of Ponta do Ouro, 120 km from Maputo and Ponta Malongane, but the best time to observe them is during the summer.
