Overview: Enjoy a half day tour of this coastal town, which serves as the Gateway to East Africa. Visit the Old town, the colourful markets, the Old Port and Fort Jesus built by the Portuguese in 1593. Also visit a mosque and a Hindu temple and stop at the Baobab garden, to see over 200 year old baobabs. Visit the Akaamba Carvers den, where hundreds of wood carvers transform logs into beautiful carvings.
Overview: Board the the Nawalikher, an old Arab-dhow that sails along the Tudor creek every evening, offering superb sundown cruises with magnificent views. Enjoy sumptuous lobster, prawn and other seafood dishes catered on board by Tamarind restaurant, East Africa's best seafood outlet. A live band playing both African and contemporary music adds ambience to the evening.
Overview: Bambury Nature Trail, recently renamed Haller Park, is one of the finest examples of successful land reclamation in Kenya's history. Used quarries have been converted into a natural park, which is home to hippos, zebras, oryx and many other birds and reptiles. After a walk in the park, visit the Mamba Village, Africa's largest crocodile farm, home to over 11,000 crocodiles.
Overview: Early morning, head out to Kenya's largest national park The Tsavo and in particular the East territory. Lunch is at the Voi Safari Lodge atop a hill with unequalled views over the Tsavo and far beyond the Yatta Plateau. Enjoy another short game drive in the afternoon as you exit the park and head back to Mombasa.
