Since that time, the world's biggest beer festival has been held every year in September/October on the Theresienwiese grounds, bringing smiles to people's faces in classic Bavarian style with oompah bands, beer fresh from the barrel and plenty of good cheer.

Ettal Monastery and Zugspitze Day Tour from Munich

Overview: Visit the 14th century Ettal Monastery, which is still active, at the Basilica of Ettal Abbey, a magnificent example of Southern Bavarian baroque style art and architecture set against the jutting rocky tree brushed slopes of the Alps.
