Phuket – Bang Tao Bay

Overview: Phuket, the largest of Thailand's islands and a province in its own right, is roughly the size of Singapore and was once a port of call on trade routes. The early Siamese settlers came here to mine tin. Later, it became a magnet for Chinese immigration and sports a variety of cultures, with almost as many mosques as there are Buddhist temples. See the remaining Sino-Portuguese architecture in Phuket town, reminiscent of Malacca. Visit Wat Chalong in Chalong Bay south of the city. Visit the orchards (fruits on display depends on season), and an orchid farm. Also visit the Laem Phromthep, a cape at the southernmost tip. Pass Kata and Karon beaches before returning to your hotel.

Overview: Canoe through the idyllic scenery of Phang Nga Bay made famous by the James Bond Movie - Man with a Golden Gun. This national marine park is dotted with dozens of islands, limestone cliffs and caves. With your skilled canoe guide discover some of Thailand's most dramatic and beautiful landscapes.
The newly discovered sea caves and 'Hongs' are an exciting feature. Hong is the Thai word for room. These Hongs are open-air cliff-lined cylindrical tidal lagoons connected to the outside world only through stalactite-filled tunnels which were undiscovered until the spring of 1990. There are many secluded beaches where you can swim.

Overview: Pick up from hotel and transfer by four wheel drive Land Rover into Chalong highlands. Arrive at Siam Safari elephant camp on the top of a mountain. Learn about the elephants and Thai elephant conservation. See how young elephants are trained, touch and feed them with fruit. Trek on elephant back in Chalong highlands. Learn how Thai jungle curry is made. See how rubber trees are tapped to produce natural rubber latex. Watch how monkeys are trained to pick coconuts and learn about buffaloes (try to sit on one!), try a Buffalo cart ride. See how coconut milk and oil are made. Cruise on a traditional wooden junk in Chalong Bay, explore Lone Island. Ends with a delicious buffet lunch on the boat, a selection of Thai dishes cooked not too spicy. Return transfer to hotels.

Overview: Drive to the mainland province of Phang Nga. The first stop is Wat Tham Suwannakhuha, housing many Buddha images including a beautiful reclining one and visit Monkey cave outside the temple. Continue to Songprek area famous for rafting. You will be briefed and trained for rafting before the real fun starts. Enjoy rafting for 5 km before returning to the camp for a local Thai lunch. Visit Ton Pariwat Waterfall where you can relax and swim. A 30-min elephant trek is also included in the afternoon program. Drive back to Phuket via a short stop at a cashew nut factory and return to hotel in Phuket.

Overview: After being picked up from your hotel, transfer to Phuket town to see the acclaimed Siam Niramit show. Dinner is buffet style featuring highlights from the Thai kitchen.
