Rio de Janeiro & Iguazzo Falls - 6 Days
Day 1: Rio De Janeiro
Arrive at Rio Airport and meet our local representative for transfer to your hotel. Rio de Janeiro, "The Marvelous City" has a breathtaking location, nestled between steep, green mountains and crystal clear seas. Its most famous attractions are the Pão de Açúcar, the Corcovado and the Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. Day at leisure. Overnight.
Day 2: Rio De Janeiro – Full Day City Tour
After breakfast begin with a panoramic city tour view through downtown Rio, passing by the Maracana Stadium, the Ambodrome, the Metropolitan Cathedral, in pyramid form; see the traditional Cinelandia square with its historical buildings, the Municipal Theater, the National Library and the National Museum of Fine Arts. Visit the famous Sugar Loaf mountain in Urca. Board the first glass cable-car takes to the top of Urca Hill to enjoy spectacular views of the entire bay. Continue in a second cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf, 395 meters above sea level and take in the 360 degree view of the entire city including Botafogo and Copacabana Beaches, the Corcovado and downtown Rio. Lunch on your own.
In the afternoon, visit Corcovado Mountain and the beaches. Drive to the older part of Rio called Cosme Velho, to board the modern Swiss - made cog wheel train to the Corcovado Mountain with its gigantic statue of Christ the Redeemer (2300ft above sea level). The trip up takes about 17 minutes and the descent takes 22minutes. Overnight.
Day 3: Rio De Janeiro – Plataforma Samba Show
Breakfast. Enjoy a free day at the Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. Return to your hotel and enjoy the glamorous and colorful Evening Plataforma Samba Show. See the brilliantly costumed dancers and musicians; enjoy an optional delicious buffet dinner at a Brazilian steakhouse. Rio means Carnival, and the exotic Samba is a fusion of Portuguese, native and African dance influences. Overnight.
Day 4: Rio De Janeiro – Iguassu – Iguassu Falls
Breakfast. Transfer to airport and fly to Iguassu. Transfer to your hotel in Iguassu. Transfer to the Brazilian Park's Visitors Center and board the panoramic buses for a park tour. Then alight and start walking the paths. From the first balcony, get a panoramic view of the Argentinean falls. After 950 meters, view the falls on the Brazilian side. From the walkway next to the Floriano Fall get a gorgeous view of the lower Iguazu River and the Devil's Gorge Canyon. The elevator and the stairs lead to the shopping and restaurant area upstairs. Return to the Visitors Center by panoramic buses. Please note, the paths include many stairs. Overnight.
Day 5: Iguassu – Argentinean Side
Breakfast. See the Argentinean side of the Falls on this longer tour. Arrive at the New Visitors Center to board the train to Cataratas Station in about 8 minutes or take a short walk through the "Green Trail" to the beginning of the path towards the Upper and Lower trails.
Upper Circuit: The 800 meters of catwalks are detached from the jungle´s surface to protect the fauna. Enjoy an upper view of the magnificent falls.
Lower Circuit: There are 1600 meters of catwalks, also detached from the jungle's surface. Enjoy the view from below and around the falls.
Devil's Gorge: Departing from Cataratas Station, the train goes up to Garganta Station in 18 minutes. Walk along the catwalks, some 1200 meters over the islands. Enjoy the most spectacular sight from the most important balcony - the Devil's Gorge.
Return to the Visitors Center where the vehicles are waiting and return to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 6: Iguassu
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport.
