Overview: Pass the beautiful Salzach river valley before arriving at Werfen, where, up on the mountain you can see the Fortress Hohenwerfen, (11th Century). This castle was shown in the movie "The Sound of Music" and where the film "Where Eagles Dare" with Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood was filmed. You will travel up the elevator, and back to the "Middle Ages."
You can also participate in a flying birds of prey show, walk around in the fortress or visit the shops of the knights. Enjoy the breathtaking view of the Austrian Alps in the romantic castle-tavern. In the afternoon return to Salzburg.

Overview: Drive from Salzburg over the Durrnberg mountain pass, with it's Miner's Chapel, crossing the German border to reach Obersalzberg. From here a specially constructed bus drives you up the steep mountain road to a parking area. Walk a short distance through a tunnel in the mountain to the elaborate elevator which takes you up the Eagle's Nest, formerly a meeting place for Hitler and his diplomatic guests. A spectacular view of the entire Salzach Valley and the Bavarian Alps awaits you. Make a short stop at the picturesque market town of Berchtesgaden before returning to Salzburg.

Overview: The tour begins by the Palace of Mirabell built in 1606 for the Archbishop Wolf Dietrich and is today home to the office of the local Mayor and city offices.
