Sri Lanka Adventure Family Special – 9 Days

Day 1: Arrival in Sri Lanka - Pinnawala - Dambulla

Arrival and you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and then introduced to a friendly English speaking chauffer Guide and we begin our transfer to Dambulla. En route visit to Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. The best time to visit is the feeding time from 0930-1000 hrs and 1330-1400 hrs and the bathing time from 1000-1230 hrs and 1400-1600 hrs when all the elephants are taken to the river close by.

In the evening visit Dambulla Cave Temple (also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla) is a World Heritage Site (1991) in Sri Lanka. It is the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented Caves in the surrounding area. These paintings and statues are related to Lord Buddha and his life. Proceed to your hotel in Dambulla. Dinner & Overnight stay in Dambulla.

Day 2: Dambulla - Sigiriya

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be taken to Visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the 5th Century "Fortress in the Sky" which is perhaps the most fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the Palace on the summit of the 600-foot high rock.

VILLAGE TREK WITH LUNCH In the afternoon Visit Hiriwadunna, a village where trees outnumber people 1 to 100 and enjoy a trek across natural trails, a catamaran boat trip and a bullock cart ride. Upon reaching the shore you will be escorted to the house of a village local where your authentic Sri Lankan lunch will be cooked from freshly grown produce. Climb a tree house which is used by the local farmers to keep a watch on their crops and scare aware any elephants that come to attack it. After that, board a tuk tuk and enjoy a breezy ride back to the starting point. Proceed to your hotel in Dambulla. Dinner & Overnight stay in Dambulla.

Day 3: Dambulla - Matale - Kandy

Breakfast. You will be heading to the Hill capital; Kandy. Kandy is also well known as the center of Buddhism and the capital of the last Sinhalese kingdom.

EN ROUTE VISIT SPICE GARDEN, MATALE – Complete a guide tour of the manufacturing process of various herbs and spices. Visit the TEMPLE OF TOOTH RELIC which was once a resplendent royal palace. The palace now houses one of the most sacred tooth relics of the Buddha and is considered one of the most symbolic icons of the Buddhist heritage of Sri Lanka.

CULTURAL SHOW – Evening experience a COLOURFUL SHOW where you will be taken to mind blowing Sri Lankan culture extravaganza… Get ready for Heavy drumbeat and acrobatic act. Dinner & Overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 4: Kandy - Ella

Breakfast. Drive to Ella or by Train.

Option 1 – By train you will be heading to Kandy Railway station for a once in lifetime experience. This is going to be a unique experience, taking A CLASSICAL TRAIN JOURNEY! There are two express trains a day from Kandy to Ella:
Departure from Kandy: 08:47 – Arrives in Ella: 15:14
Departure from Kandy: 11:10 – Arrives in Ella: 17:16

Option 2 - By road Drive via famous Ramayana temple, HANUMAN TEMPLE, in Ramboda and Ramboda fall with the experience of tea plantations & tea factory visit.

Enjoy "TEA EXPERIENCE", which involves a visit a plantation to observe firsthand the process, starting from the plucking field where it all begins with the picking of "two leaves and a bud" to the factory where the processing begins. Enjoy a while in Nuwara Eliya city, little England, with famous Gregory Lake, Victoria park and other scenic beauty. Arrive in Ella & Check in to your hotel. Have a relaxed walk in the beautiful paths of the hotel surrounded with mountains & water falls. Dinner & Overnight stay in Ella.

Day 5: Ella

Breakfast. At the Ella jungle resort you will have following activities are on complementary basis 1) Arial Rope, 2) Slithering rope, 3) Toddy tapper walk, 4) Monkey Rope, 5) Warakara Waterfall Tracking. Enjoy Little Adams peak, Nine Arch Bridge in Ella, Ravana Waterfall. Dinner & Overnight stay in Ella.

Day 6: Ella - Yala

Breakfast. Proceed to Yala & check in to hotel. Evening Safari in Yala National park. Yala is famous for its big herds and large number of Elephants, Leopards, Spotted Deer, Sambhur, Crocodiles, Mongoose, Wild Boar, Wild Buffalo, and many other animals. More than 130 bird species are recorded which includes the resident and winter visitors. Dinner & Overnight stay in Yala.

Day 7: Yala – Galle - Ahungalla

Breakfast. Transfer to Ahungalla (All Inclusive package in your beach stay). En route Visit Galle.

Galle - Stroll around the lighthouse and harbour or visit the old town where you can see the traditional lace makers and wood carvers and purchase some the finest souvenirs.

The Dutch Fort - Galle - The South Coast's major city is Galle, whose oldest landmark is the massive Portuguese and Dutch Fort which is a "World Heritage Site" in which the central city is contained. But the city may be much older. Some scholars believe it to be the "Tarshish" of the Old Testament, to which King Solomon sent his merchant vessels, and to which Jonah fled from the Lord. Check in to the hotel. Dinner & Overnight stay in Ahungalla.

Day 8: Ahungalla – Bentota - Ahungalla

Breakfast. Proceed to Sightseeing in Bentota. Many interesting sightseeing tours are possible from here, such as the Turtle farm, Mask shop, Boat trips on Bentota River etc. Dinner & Overnight stay in Ahungalla.

Day 9: Colombo - Airport

Breakfast. Transfer to Colombo. Explore the city of Colombo.

COLOMBO a drive through the city taking you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens, Visit Fort, the former British administrative centre and military garrison, Sea Street - the Goldsmiths quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings, and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749. Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha & the Independence Square.

Indulge in some shopping whether it is value for money clothes or impressive antiques – Odel shopping Complex, Paradise Road, and Barefoot Gallery.

As all good things must come to an end, your guide will comfortably take you to the international airport in time for your return flight.
