Overview: After sailing past the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, the Public Gardens, the tip of Sant'Elena and the famous Lido beach resort, the boat arrives in Murano, known throughout the world for its glass manufacturing industry. Stop here for around 40 minutes to visit one of the factories. Next, stop for 30 minutes at the picturesque island of Burano, famous not only for its lace but also for the fishermen's houses painted in bright colors. After a short cruise, reach Torcello, the earliest centre of civilization in the estuary. Only the Cathedral with its magnificent mosaics and the church of Santa Fosca remain as testimony of its former glory. The stop will be for about 30 minutes. Return to St.Mark's Square.

Overview: After only an hour's drive from Venice, emerge into a land of towering peaks and peaceful valleys dotted with villages. Before entering the Sesto region, stop for morning coffee at Pieve di Cadore, a typical Italian village surrounded by soaring peaks, the birthplace of the Renaissance painter Titian.
After stopping to admire Lake Santa Caterina, visit Lake Misurina, 'the pearl of the Dolomites' famous for its breathtaking views of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the most celebrated peaks of the Sesto region. Drive up to the base of the Tre Cime for truly spectacular views of the Dolomite Mountains, stretching as far as the eye can see.
Enjoy an optional lunch at a local trattoria, then take a short (optional) walk along a level trail to further appreciate the dramatic scenery of the area. In the afternoon, drive into the Cortina region to visit the cosmopolitan ski resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo, pausing at a panoramic viewpoint to admire the town circled by soft green meadows and towering mountains.
Enjoy free time to wander around the town of Cortina, with its streets lined with elegant boutiques or relax at one of the street-side cafes. In the late afternoon, travel back to Venice, passing several major peaks.
