Day 1:
Guwahati
Arrive Guwahati airport where you will be met by our representative. Proceed to Kamakhya Temple, the Shakti Temple of mother Goddess Kamakhya on the top of Nilachal Hills, overlooking the River Brahmaputra. Also visit Bhubaneswari Temple. Later check into your hotel. This evening, time permitting, visit emporia and market.

Day 2:
Guwahati – Shillong (110km / 3 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Shillong, stopping en route to view the beautiful Umiam Lake. Check into your hotel on arrival. Later visit the Don Bosco Center of Indigenous Cultures (Sunday closed) in the city. In the evening, visit Police Bazaar, Shillong’s prime shopping location offering electronics to traditional handicraft, modern clothing to handloom items, traditional spices etc.

Day 3:
Shillong – Day trip to Cherrapunjee (56km / 2½ hrs)
After breakfast drive to Shillong Peak, one of the highest points of the Meghalaya plateau. Later drive to Cherrapunjee the “wettest place on earth” in the world with average rainfall of 12,000 mm a year. Visit the Thankharang Park from where you can see the plains of Bangladesh, Seven Sisters Fall, Nohkalikai Fall, Mawsmai Cave. Return to Shillong visiting Elephant Fall en route.

Day 4:
Shillong – Day trip to Mawlynnong (90km / 3 hrs)
After breakfast drive to Mawlynnong considered the cleanest village in India. Drive through winding roads and enjoy panoramic views. On arrival, walk 400 m to see the amazing Living Root Bridge. It is one of the most extraordinary pieces of art and engineering work done by man and nature as a team. As an old tradition, the Khasi’s have been growing/creating living root bridges to cross the rivers, using Rubber Plants (FicusElastica) as the tree grows many secondary roots. Take a walk around the village and return to Shillong.

Day 5:
Shillong – Guwahati (110km / 3 hrs)
After breakfast, transfer to Guwahati Airport.
