At the top of the hill stands the church of Nostra Senhora do Monte. Meet the famous carreiros with straw hats who will give you a 10 minute ride in wicker sleds to enjoy wonderful views of the bay. Visit to the Botanical Garden with 2000 species of exotic plants. Enjoy one of the best views of Funchal. Rest of the evening is at leisure.

After breakfast, enjoy a private excursion to the Valley of the Nuns, a village built on the crater of an extinct volcano, and was once a place where nuns would hide when pirates attacked Funchal. Stop by Câmara de Lobosa fishing village and try a traditional Madeira drink. Rest of the day free to enjoy the beach.

Portugal’s capital has been influenced by many different cultures over time, there is still a village feel in each historic neighbourhood. Arrive and private transfer to your hotel. Check in.
