Grand Train Tour of Switzerland – 8 Days
Day 1: Interlaken

Arrive in Interlaken by train. Check in at your hotel. Interlaken lies in the Bernese Oberland on an alluvial plain, between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz. The vacation destination, which is presided over by the three mighty mountains, Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau, is the starting point for numerous activities. Explore on your own.

Day 2: Interlaken – Jungfraujoch Top of Europe

Breakfast. The first highlight of your visit to Switzerland awaits you. Enjoy a journey to the Jungfraujoch Top of Europe, the highest railway station in Europe located at 3454 m. Don‘t miss out on the following attractions: Alpine Sensation, Sphinx, Jungfrau Panorama, Lindt Swiss Chocolate Heaven, Ice Palace, and Snow Fun.

Day 3: Interlaken – Montreux (3h 15)

Breakfast. Today travel with the new Golden-Pass Express trains to Montreux. We recommend a visit to the moated Chillon Castle, on the shores of Lake Geneva.

Day 4: Montreux – Zermatt (2h 40)

Breakfast. Take a regional train to Zurmatt. Enjoy an optional excursion by cogwheel railway up to the Gornergrat for a superb panoramic view of the Matterhorn. Or experience the peak of sporting adventures in the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. At an airy 3883 m, you will find Europe‘s highest cableway and summit station.

Day 5: Zermatt - Glacier Express Zermatt – St. Moritz (8h)

Breakfast. Board the Glacier Express for one of the greatest train journeys in the world across 291 bridges, through 91 tunnels, and across the Oberalp Pass at 2033 m. to arrive in St. Moritz.

Day 6: Bernina Express St. Moritz – Lugano (8h 30)

Breakfast. Today, travel on the Bernina Express along the UNESCO World Heritage route. The Bernina Express train takes you to Tirano, where you will have time for an optional lunch break. Then board the Bernina Express coach to Lugano.

Day 7: Lugano - Lucerne (1h 40)

Breakfast. Travel by train from Lugano to Lucerne. Experience the Gotthard Base Tunnel, the longest train tunnel (57 km.) in the world. Rest of the day at leisure. We recommend the following optional excursions: Mt. Titlis, Mt. Rigi, or Mt. Pilatus.

Day 8: Lucerne

Breakfast. After check-out , transfer to airport
