First Passage to the West:
Retrace the steps of 19th century explorers, travel through the legendary Spiral Tunnels and pass by the spot where the Last Spike on the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. This is the only passenger rail service on this historic route and its building is one of the most important in Canadian history as it united Canada from east to west. You’ll also transverse the Continental Divide and be inspired by spectacular mountains and dramatic canyons. If you’re a history buff, this route is for you.
Day 1: Vancouver – Kamloops
Departing early in the morning, travel onboard Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Kamloops, in the heart of British Columbia’s interior. See dramatic changes in scenery, from green fields, through forests and winding river canyons to the desert-like landscapes of the BC interior. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Your day ends in the evening as you travel along the shores of Kamloops Lake into Kamloops town. Overnight in Kamloops.

Day 2: Kamloops – Banff
Early in the morning, continue to the mighty Canadian Rockies and Alberta. Once again, view dramatic scenery. Today’s highlights include Mount Robson, at 3,954 metres (12,972 feet), the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, followed by Pyramid Falls and the climb over the Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park. Arrive in the resort town of Jasper.

Rainforest to Gold Rush:
This route has it all, as you’ll enjoy some of the most breathtaking and varied rail scenery found anywhere in the world. Travel past stunning lakes, through the tranquil coastal rainforest and the desert like conditions of the Fraser Canyon into the vast ranchlands of the Cariboo Plateau. This is gold country where prospectors came from around the world to find their fortunes in the late 1850’s and early 1860’s. You will visit the Gold Pan city of Quesnel, journey through the Rocky Mountain Trench, be awestruck by spectacular Mount Robson and cap off the journey in the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies.
Day 1: Vancouver – Whistler
Departing early in the morning, travel through the stunning scenery of the Sea to Sky Corridor. Travel onboard Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to the resort town of Whistler, renowned for outstanding skiing and mountain biking, an array of culinary delights and year-round outdoor adventure activities, Highlights of the trip include spectacular views of Howe Sound, the Coast Mountains, Brandywine Falls, Mount Garibaldi and the impressive Cheakamus Canyon. Arrive in the early afternoon and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Whistler.
Day 2: Whistler – Quesnel
A complimentary motor coach will pick you up from your hotel at 6:45 am PT and transfer you to Pemberton station (approx a 35-minute drive), to board the Rocky Mountaineer train and travel to the charming rural town of Quesnel, gateway to the North Cariboo. Enjoy breath-taking and varied scenery. Highlights include the shorelines of Anderson Lake and glacier-fed Seton Lake, views of the Fraser Canyon, and the crossing of Deep Creek Bridge, one of the highest railway bridges in the world. Arrive Quesnel. Overnight.

Day 3: Quesnel – Jasper
Early in the morning, continue eastward to the majestic Canadian Rockies and Jasper National Park. Follow the Fraser River north to the town of Prince George, then travel the through northern British Columbia forests, home to plentiful wildlife, including moose, caribou and bears. Upon entering the Rocky Mountain Trench, surrounded by the Rocky Mountains and the Cariboo Mountains. Continue climbing past Mount Robson, at 3,954 metres (12,972 feet), the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, through Yellowhead Pass into the province of Alberta. Arrive in Jasper in the evening.
