Castles of Czech Republic – 9 Days
Day 1: Prague

Arrive at Prague International airport and transfer to your hotel.

Overnight.

Day 2: Prague - Prague Castle

Walk through the winding streets of the Old Town and the former Jewish ghetto, discover the diversity of the Lesser Town and enjoy the views of the Petřín Park. Be enchanted by the grandeur of the king’s residence. Explore the entire Prague Castle complex. In the evening enjoy a 1 hour Vltava river cruise.

Day 3: Prague - Kost Castle & Kutna Hora

After 1.5 hr ride, reach Kost Castle. The tour of the castle is divided into four areas. Choose from circles – Kinsky in Bohemia, Torture, coupled first and 2 circuit, short circuit, shows the exterior of the castle. Later continue to Kutna Hora. Meet your Guide at the city centre and enjoy the guided city walk.

Kutná Hora, a medieval silver mining center, was once the second richest city in the Kingdom of Bohemia. The former wealth of the town is reflected in the variety of architectural monuments and in the preserved town centre. Also visit one of the most interesting burial grounds in the world: The Sedlec Ossuary. This chapel is decorated with more than 40,000 human bones, arranged into a chandelier, see the Schwarzenberg Coat-of-Arms and more.

Day 4: Kutna Hora - Bouzov Castle & Olomouc

Today, proceed to Bouzov Castle (2.5 hrs), a romantic castle built at the turn of the 13th and 14th century, in the countryside of Litovel and Mohelnice. In 1696 it was alternately owned by Order of German Knights. In 1945 it became the property of the state. In 1999 it was declared a national cultural monument. Continue to Olomouc. Check in to your hotel and explore the city on your own this evening.

Day 5: Olomouc - Lednice Castle & Brno

Drive to Lednice Castle (1.5 hrs). The Chateau Lednice is state property from 1945, managed by the Ministry of Culture through the National Heritage Institute in Prague. The castle is one of the most visited monuments in Czech Republic.

Later proceed to Brno and enjoy your private guided tour which takes you to the most popular, interesting, and important buildings, squares, streets, and parks.

Day 6: Brno - Cesky Krumlov

Today your driver will take you to Cesky Krumlov (3 hrs.), another popular destination. It is a UNESCO medieval town in South Bohemia, which retains its fairytale-like atmosphere. Enjoy a walking tour with your guide and also visit the local castle, the second largest castle in the Czech Republic, filled with ancient furniture, artwork, tapestries, and exquisitely adorned weapons.

Day 7: Cesky Krumlov - Hluboka & Vltavou - Karlstejn Castle - Prague

Visit Hluboka & Vltavou Castle, just 40 minutes away. Originally a royal castle on a promontory above the Vltava River, after many changes in 1661 became the property of the Schwarzenberg family.

Later continue to Karlstejn Castle (2 hours). Karlštejn Castle was founded in 1348 by the Charles IV, King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor as his private residence and a place of safekeeping royal treasures, especially his collections of holy relics and the Imperial Crown Jewels. Enjoy the guided tour. Continue to your hotel in Prague.

Day 8: Prague - Day Tour to Karlovy Vary & Loket Castle

Karlovy Vary is probably the best-known spa town in the Czech Republic. Its history begins in the 14th century, during the reign of Charles IV. The healing powers of the local springs have been tested by such greats as by the Russian Tsar Peter the Great and German poet Goethe. After a private walking tour, continue to Loket Castle (20 minutes).

Loket Castle’s formidable premises reflect the beauty of the early Middle Ages. Be carried away by many mystical tales. Drive back to Prague.

Day 9: Prague

Transfer to Prague International airport for your next flight.
