Finland – Norway Aurora – 7 Days

Welcome to Rovaniemi a city and municipality of Finland. It is the administrative capital and commercial centre of Finland’s northernmost province, Lapland, and its southern part Peräpohjola. Arrive and transfer to your hotel. In the evening, experience the northern lights tour by mini van. The Aurora Borealis are visible in Rovaniemi from late August until mid-April. The bus will take you to several different spots to give you the best chance to chase the northern lights. Your guide will take some nice photos of you during the tour, playing with light for funny photo effects. You will also get tips on how to set your own camera for night photography. Hot drinks and ginger bread cookies are included.

Breakfast. Enjoy a visit to Santa Clause Village with a small group, meet the real Santa and blow him your wishes. Visit Santa’s post office where his elves are working all year. You can also send a postcard from there. Cross the Arctic Circle line where you can take some photos and videos. Enjoy exploring the rest of the village, visit local shops, buy souvenirs, see some reindeer and more.

Breakfast. Visit the husky kennel and get a feel for how the dogs are prepared to be the amazing athletes they are. The enthusiastic dogs will happily take you down the forest trail for an unforgettable experience.

Optional: After the tour, enjoy the luxury of staying in a glass igloo. The glass ceiling allows you to gaze up at the inky night sky and watch the Northern Lights dance hypnotically, all from the comfort of your bed.

Breakfast. Check out and take a flight to Tromso, arrive and transfer to your hotel. Check – in. Tromsø is known as the Arctic Capital and is the biggest city in Northern Norway.

This evening, join the Northern Lights Cuisine Cruise by a silent hybrid catamaran and enjoy a tasty three-course dinner from one of the best restaurants in Tromsø whilst looking for the Northern Lights. The boat has panoramic windows and comfortable heated lounges guaranteeing a cozy atmosphere. Pass the beautiful snow-capped mountains of Tromsø and landmarks like the Arctic Cathedral.

Whilst cruising around Tromsø fjord, enjoy a delicious Arctic tapas dinner prepared by an award-winning local restaurant. Made with locally sourced, seasonal, and fresh ingredients, the three-course dinner is inspired by traditional Northern Norwegian cuisine with a modern twist!

Breakfast. The first stop is Ersfjord, a former coastal fishing village, but now a stunning popular fjord. Take some beautiful photos. Next, is Sommarøy, a small island connected to Kvaløya via a bridge. Sommarøy is known for its stunning natural beauty – crystal-clear blue waters and sandy beaches with mountain peaks in the background, giving you a dramatic view of the Arctic landscape. Finally, Hella, to see old rock carvings. During one of the stops enjoy a light picnic consisting of wraps and hot drinks.

Breakfast. Join this guided tour and see some of the main historical spots. Walk around the small city center of Tromsø, founded in 1795 on the island of Tromsøya. The city, which was also called the Gateway to the Arctic, has been, throughout history, the start for several Polar Expeditions. After a short walk around the pier, arrive at the unique Polarmuseet and Skansen area. Continue along Storgata (the pedestrian street) to the Market Place, the Catholic and Protestant Cathedrals, the Roald Amundsen Monument, and the Mack Brewery.

Tromsø is one of the best places in Norway to see the Northern Lights. Join the Aurora Minibus tour in the evening. In Tromsø, every evening from September to April offers a chance of seeing the Northern Lights. Experienced and dedicated guides will use their local knowledge and check the weather forecast to find the best spots to see the Northern Lights.
