Breakfast. See Iceland above and under the ground. Learn about the inner workings of a volcanic eruption while you walk in the path of a lava that flowed thousands of years ago. The lava tunnel is one of the biggest in Iceland, up to 30 metres wide and 10 metres high. The caved in lava tube ceiling near the entrance creates beautiful columns of light. The fantastic range of colours of the tunnel wall is caused by the different mineral types of the rock.

Visit three of Iceland’s most stunning sights; Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area and Þingvellir National Park. The Geysir geothermal area boasts spouting springs, including Strokkur, the most active geyser in Iceland. At Gullfoss, stand next to the amazing waterfall, watch enormous quantities of water tumble violently into a deep, meandering gorge.

Breakfast. Today visit the gorgeous Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls. Seljalandsfoss is part of the Seljalandsá river, with origins in Eyjafjallajökull glacier. Seljalandsfoss is famous and interesting because you can walk behind it (Do bring either a raincoat or a waterproof coat along).

Skógafoss, another famous Icelandic waterfall, is the starting point of the Fimmvörðuháls walk over to Þórsmörk. Stop at Reynisfjara black sand beach, with the Reynisdrangar rock formations and columnar basalt. Stop by Sólheimajökull glacier and walk up to a small lake that has formed in front of the retreating glacier. Return to your hotel.

Breakfast. The Snæfellsnes Peninsula in the West of Iceland is a miniature version of the entire island. The area has black beaches, magnificent mountains, volcanic craters, incredible birdlife, magical caves, and of course, the most picturesque glacier of them all, Snæfellsjökull.

Stop at the small fishing village of Arnarstapi. Enjoy great views of the iconic Kirkjufell mountain and the dark cliffs and black sand of Djúpalónssandur bay enroute.

Breakfast. Check out. This morning, take the city sightseeing walking tour including a visit to Harpa Concert Hall Conference Centre, Reykjavik Old Harbour, Reykjavík Maritime Museum, Hallgrímskirkja Church, and others highlights. Later transfer to the airport to fly to Akureyri. Arrive, transfer to your hotel and check in.

Overnight.

Breakfast. Drive east, cross Eyjafjörður fjord and enjoy the view of the town, the ocean, and the mountains surrounding the fjord. Arrive at the picturesque Goðafoss Waterfall, stop there before travelling for another half hour to the Lake Mývatn area which has been a location for major Hollywood films and TV shows, like Game of Thrones, Fast & Furious and Star Wars. Explore the pseudo-craters of Skútustaðagígar and enjoy the great panoramic view. See the local nature highlights like the Hverir Mud Pools, Mt. Námafjall, Dimmuborgir Lava Fields, and Grjótagjá cave.

Breakfast. Today see the incredible whales and dolphins of Iceland. The vast fjord’s vibrant life and plenitude of food bring the larger-than-life Humpback whales which call Akureyri their home. The specially trained whale watching guides are experts at spotting them, telling you all about their behaviour and answering questions you may have.
