Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1: NAIROBI

Pick up from the airport upon arrival. Transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is spent at leisure.

Lunch and dinner this day are not included.

DAY 2: NAIROBI - AMBOSELI

Drive to Amboseli National Park via the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway, home to the proud and brightly painted Maa tribe of the Masai. The park’s acacia woodlands and grasslands shelter an abundance of game, including buffalo, lion, cheetah, hyena, zebra, and wildebeest. Amboseli National Park lies below the most famous symbol of Africa, Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Its snowcapped peak will dominate the background while you marvel at the wildlife and scenery.

Streams from Kilimanjaro flow through the centre of Amboseli, creating swamps that attract and support a rich diversity of wildlife and birdlife. Most of Amboseli is flat and dusty, and so the best spots for game viewing are these wetlands.

DAY 3: AMBOSELI

Day spent in Amboseli National Park.

DAY 4: AMBOSELI - LAKE ELEMENTAITA

Check out after breakfast. Join your driver guide and drive down to the floor of the Rift Valley on your way to the Lake Elementaita area with a stopover at the famous Rift Valley Viewpoint.

You will be expected to arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon at leisure at the hotel.

DAY 5: LAKE ELEMENTAITA - MASAI MARA

Breakfast at the lodge and check out. Join your tour guide and drive East to the famous Masai Mara.

The Masai Mara is one of Kenya’s most visited and richest game reserves with a huge density of wildlife, including the big five. It is also famous for the great wildebeest migration that occurs annually. The great migration involves the wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle instinct-led movement from the Serengeti in Tanzania around July to the Masai Mara in Kenya and then departing around November. This journey is coupled with numerous obstacles, which make it even more magnificent.

Arrival will be in time for lunch. Early afternoon spent on leisure to enjoy the camp’s amenities and freshen up. Later, join your driver guide for the afternoon game drive, returning to your lodge before dusk.

DAY 6: MASAI MARA

Spend the day in the Masai Mara with full-day game drives, giving you a chance to view the animals that eluded you the previous day. You can also engage in other extra activities as suggested by your tour guide.

A hot air balloon is a perfect way to fully understand the extent of the landscape, as well as a great way to see vast swathes of animals as they move through their habitat. Taking a balloon safari is an optional activity offered at an extra cost; this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience the Masai Mara like few have.

You can also allow yourself a visit to a Masai village, home to warriors of the plains who have a legendary relationship with the animals. Greeted with a traditional song and dance, followed by time to explore the village, you can learn about their culture and understand some of their ancient heritage. This is a chance not to be missed. An extra fee is charged for this truly unique experience.

DAY 7: MASAI MARA - NAIROBI

Drive from the Masai Mara back to Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city, and drop off at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your outbound flight.
